Ultrasound is a medical imaging technique based on ultrasound reflection. It is a non-invasive technique, presenting no danger to the patient. Our Envermeu site is equipped with it.

Ultrasound is the examination of choice for the exploration of the abdominal organs :

– Digestive system : search for foreign bodies, tumors, bile duct obstruction, pancreatitis ...- Genitals : pregnancy diagnosis and follow-up, pathologies of the prostate in males and of the ovaries or uterus in females.- Urinary system : calculus search, tumors, kidney disease (polycystosis, hydronéphrose…)- Other abdominal organs and abdominal cavity : tumors and torsion of the spleen, adrenal tumors, peritonitis, exploration of lymph nodes during cancer extension assessment ...

Ultrasound is also indicated for the exploration of other organs :

– Echocardiographie : diagnosis and monitoring of various cardiac pathologies, diagnosis and treatment of pericardial effusion during tamponade ...

– Tendon ultrasound : search for tendon rupture, tendonitis ...

Abdominal radiography can also be offered even if ultrasound often supplants it in this indication.
