Preventive medicine and herd monitoring

This medicine is based on the needs of each herd, and sometimes even from each batch within the same herd.
According to places and types of breeding, the needs in terms of prevention are not the same.
Several key points can be addressed to improve the overall health of the herd, preventively :
– The quality of colostrum and that of its transfer
– The vaccination (neonatal diarrhea, bronchopneumonia, enterotoxemia, mammites, ringworm) : definition of protocols and help with organization (monitoring of injections performed and memory aid for reminder injections to be performed).
– Adapted pest control protocol
– Pain management (dehorning, castration, calving…)
– Targeted dry-off
– Food, pasture
